This is so good, Rebecca! I just discovered Jenna and am watching her YouTube videos now (and am trying to find her book locally)! And to think this post is one year old! All this time I could have been painting in watercolour! 😀
Love the waves, the foam is super realistic - great job!
Thanks for your comment on this old post. I actually had to go back to it and re-read it. I couldn't remember it in detail. ☺️I hope you'll enjoy painting with watercolours like I did. I'm currently not doing it anymore, but never say never... this might change in the future.
Yes, I can highly recommend Jenna's course, especially since you're totally into watercolours right now. I like how she explains the basics of painting with watercolours. But it's not just that. The couse is about creativity in general. How to find one own style, how to come into a flow state. And much more. You actually gave me an idea: I might go back to the course and re-visit the general lessons about creativity and adapt them to making pottery. Thank you.
What creative ideas, Rebecca! And what a difference real watercolor paper made. It's so nice that you are giving yourself permission to just play and experiment and see where that takes you rather than demanding perfection.
I see the difference too on the paper, they are just wonderful. I think you have captured the movement of the waves very well. Calming, the water... 💙🩵

I am loving watercolour, it's so different from using underglazes to decorate clay! I needed it.
As I mentioned, I am watching a lot of Jenna's content on YouTube. You say you did her course, The Art Within - do you recommend it?

Thanks, Clarice! Experimenting is really fun, however, it's not always easy as perfectionism tries to overrule often... 😊
That's true for anyone who creates something, I think. Good for you for being willing to try--despite all of those "not good enough" voices.

Thank you, Claudette.
